Follow Your Dreams for the New Year!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!  This is a stampscapes scene and it is a new type of stamping that I just love. You can stamp on a photo, use water colors, marker, blender pen, copics, chalk and on and on! This one is a stamped on a photo taken by a stamp friend in my yahoo group.  She shared it with us and I have enjoyed stamping on it and trying this new style out.  My sweet husband got me a wonderful camera for Christmas so I hope to be able to post better pictures and cards for my blog, and I will be showing off my new grand baby girl! We had a nice snow for Christmas,  it lasted a short while but it made the season for us! We are so very blessed and thankful! Enjoy your families and I will be back in a week or so to start my new year blog! Thanks for all of the friendship as I am truly blessed by all of you and remember to make time for PRAISE! Blessings Debbie

Happy Holidays to all of my stamp friends and Family!  We will reveal our First Annual HO, HO, HO, on Monday at our play day. I will post the cards after and you will love them all as they are  just beautiful! I will be hosting another swap after Christmas. So, if you want to join in send me an email to debsegler@gmail.com    Please use the new designs to help you finish up your Holiday tags or cards to mail, and please send me one too! Debbie Segler 14916 Riverside Drive Little Elm, Texas 75068
This Red Bird Window was so fun to make and was a great design by my stamp friend Betty. We did not have a die cut, so we used a square punch. Layer the dark brown and cream card stock together before you punch and then, the window will line up.  We used an embossing folder to show through the window and coated the folder (down side) with river rock ink.  This gives the look of outside coming in the window.  The cute red bird was a gift from Lorna and was already made. We cut the corners to look as if there was a window shape and then on the bottom we cut it to appear as a frame on the base of the window. It was work but turned out so pretty!   My gift to myself for Christmas is a new window die cut! HA!   The Holiday Deer card was made with a stampinup designer paper and stamp set. This is a simple but elegant card.  Santa's Smile is a card made with Nancy's stamp at her play day.  She often gives us great inspiration! The hat is covered in red stickles and is very glittery.  We then craft cut the shape out and placed it on a snowflake embossed green background.   The fun Penguin Holiday card was another Betty design. She cut the background shape to fit her stamp and it made it look like she had use a special die cut! We may be in the wrong business? HA! We used a core blue paper and embossed with snowflakes, then sanded it to make the white snowflakes show through as an accent.  Then we placed it on some light blue with silver shinny accents, The blue strip looks like a fabric ribbon and give the card a great accent. The sentiment flag is also outlined in red stickles, but it is difficult to see in the photo. You can use the stamp you have and remember how to cut your own background die shape! The Christmas Tree Card was made with a circle punch, glitter paper, and the new small stampinup star, ornament, and tree punch pack.  The star is punched of gold glitter paper and is on the top of the tree. (difficult to see) So you have enough projects for a weekend to make now!

Sleigh Bells Ring are you Listening?

Hello my stamp friends! I have just been on the run with my dear husbands basketball team and just basically LIFE!  I can not complain as we are so very blessed!  This is a card that we made at our play day with Betty, Nancy, Lorna, and myself.  We have been sharing supplies and creativity and best of all just good fellowship!  We added stickles and bling for this fun Christmas card.  The poinsettia was highlighted with a gold marker from stampinup.  Get you holiday supplies ordered quickly as the Holiday catalogue will expire the end of December. The Christmas tree card was from the fun Stamp retreat hosted by Denise and Amy!  I just loved the design and it was very fun to make.  You can use a variety of your small stamps and then punch them out to make the circles on your trees.  The cute little star is a new punch in a set of three, including a christmas ornament, and a Christmas tree! I have used them on many projects and just love them!  The last card has little punches on it too and it is very cute and simple.  You can make all of your Christmas cards in one afternoon and be ready to mail them out!
I hope this gets you going on your Holiday cards, best wishes and loads of fun stamping!  Debbie

Sock it to Christmas!

What a fun way to get your holiday cards started, by making this cute card from designer papers. We have so many new designs to choose from in the stampin'up holiday catalogue.  The focal point of this card is several different layers and texture that lead your eye to the center of the snowflake. (this is a punch) I added a brad in the center and some of our red and white twine, stamped the Merry Christmas and there you have it so cute! There are several new sentiment sets for the Christmas season, and I love the ones with script in them.   (stocking stamp and punch easy too)

Ornaments for Cards

This card is very clean and simple, and easy to make.  You can use any variety of Holiday papers and the new gumball green ink pad( my favorite one) gives the image a crisp clean print.  The stampin up ink pads are new and I just love the way they print and stamp.  The trick is to not pounce with a great deal of pressure when loading your stamp.  The extra pressure is no longer needed, and it will give you an outline around your image.  I am very heavy handed, so I have to use a light touch when loading my stamp.  The benefit of the new ink out weighs any hang ups, so try the new inks now! Your gonna love them! There is a new set of ornament stamps and coordinating die cuts and the bundle is a special right now, so look at my stanmp'in-up page.

Christmas Cards Simple and Fun

Can you believe it is that time of year again? With the holidays around the corner here are a few easy and simple cards, to help make you relaxed and happy!  This set offers so many styles to your cards that you will just love it, I know I do! This design also looks wonderful embossed in gold, or pewter powders from the holiday catalogue!

Dancing Deer

These cards are from my stamp friend Denise.  The layers on the deer card add so much to the design.  The designer paper is called newsprint, and it can be used as a background or even to be stamped on. The Christmas wreath has been embossed with pewter powder and the white background has been dry embossed with an embossing folder. I like the clean and crisp look of this card.  I hope that you are  making the time to get your holiday cards made early and have some extra ones ready for gifts too.

Tree Embossed with gold

This card was made by using embossing powder. It does not really show up in the picture, but I love the look you get from embossing. We have new colors and they give your projects a new look and a little bling for Christmas.

Deck The Halls

I am still on the Holiday card kick. I have been having a blast getting together with my stamp group and working on Holiday Cards.  This is the new die cut from stampin up and you can do so many things with it.  The punch kit matches the die and can be used to punch holes around the design to give it another type of look.  I like to use my white gel marker to connect the dots to make it look as if you have stitched it with thread.

Hot Chocolate Time! Win Prize!

This stamp set is so versatile and your cards are just limitless.  The technique is to include an extra stamp, not part of the set to add another feature to your card. If you send me what you make I will post it to my blog and then put you into the Blog Candy drawing! So get inspired to get out your supplies and go for it!

Friend To friend!

One of my stamp friends shared this photo of a card she got in the mail.  The circle is on a piece of twine and is glued under the designer paper.  The twine allows the circle to spin so that you can have an image on both sides.  Your assignment(if you should decide to take it Mr Bond) is to use this design with a Christmas stamp.  Then send me your design to post on my blog and I will pick a design winner for the free Blog Candy Prize!

Felt Like Snow In Texas!

I found this card today and it was a great reminder how the weather can get cold here. We had a cold weather spell and it felt great!  This is a really cute way to change the design of your card make a snow drift by tearing your card stock, then sand, glitter, or ice with white ink to get the look of snow.   The new stampin up illuminate ink pad gives the look of shimmer and you can add embossing powder or glitter to give it that pop! You can use any holiday, fall, or winter stamp with this design! So send me your card to share and win some Holiday Blog Candy!

Tag Your It!

While you have your scraps out make some gift tags for the holidays. These are very simple to make and you can use any punch and Holiday Stamp combinations you have on hand. I like to use the snowflake punch and die cut from stampin up as the background of my tags. Add some ribbon or yarn to the project to make the hanger for the tag. I you need a Holiday mini please call me and I will send you one. You can also shop from my blog. Thanks get some fun into your day go stamp and create!

Tree fun for Holidays!

This card was a fun scrap project that I used several pieces of card stock and embellishments that were left over. So, I challenge you to get out your scrap bag and design five Christmas Cards. You can stamp, or cut the shape any way you wish. The main goal is to use up some of the goodies you have saved up. Cut one of your trees on the fold and use the inside for the sentiment on your card. Send me a sample of what you design, and I will post them and give a prize for creativity!

Back Home After Surgery

Hello, stamp friends. I have been out of town for some surgery and I am home trying to get better. I have missed stamping and can not wait till I can climb the stairs to my studio again. I am posting some cards just for fun inspiration. You can use any stamp that you like and simply sponge the accent color around the image. I like the look it gives the card and picks up the colors from the designer papers.

CUP CAKES MAKE ME SMILE!

Just a fun whimsical little card to make anyone smile! I used circle punches to make the icing top and designer paper for the bottom. The flag is on a small toothpick.

Cool Card And Cool Drink!

This card was made with velum cut as a glass shape. A real straw and the colored tissue gives the look of a great Cold Drink. I did not get to make this one but got the picture from one of my stamp friends. Have fun and send me what you design.

Brayer Moon

This card was made with a punched out post it note as the moon, then brayered over to get the moon and sky. It is an easy and fun technique and allows you to get different looks and layers of color. I had fun making this card with my stamp friend Betty!

Heart Flower

This flower is so fun and very easy to make, and your designs can be so varied by using different designer papers. This card design came from Nancy, she does wonderful cards! You can add a real heart shaped candy on s stick, tie it on with ribbon so your card comes
with both a sweet gift and a great card too!

Flower Power!

These flowers seem to "POP" off the page , and they do because they have demensionals behind them to give them a lift! The paper, ribbon, and card stock all are color coordinated with our markers and ink ads so your project always blends perfectly! I like the layers on this so card and they give it that eye catching lift to draw you into the scene. Please see my stamping up page to order your supplies this week!
