White Embossed Lacy Doily

This card was a quick and easy technique. I had a stamp friend ask me about it so I wanted to show you, as you can make so many pretty styles with this technique.  Pick a stamp with detail and a medium to a large size works best.  Emboss with white embossing powder on colored card stock or designer paper. Then use your sponge daubers to color the design, I used two colors on this one. Three colors also look nice. The back ground colors will shine through, as well as what colors you add. You can also mix stamps and emboss more than one design.  This technique gives the card some texture and color variety. Send me your pictures and make a special card today!

Window Card Winner! Betty!!

Oh My Goodness! This window card was a challenge a while back and Betty Schaub really out did herself on this one! She die cut two windows and put them together, she use the stampin up top note as her base for the card and she and she antiqued with white craft ink and it just turned out gorgeous! She added punched flowers and a little red bird to the card window and it really makes a great focal point on the card.  She won a free stamp set from the Holiday catty!  She can fly with the best of the stampers for sure! Thanks Betty for your great window card! Ok it is your turn design a window card and get it int he mail to me soon! You might win a prize too!

Listen and you can hear the flutter of wings!

This humming bird reminds me of my sweet mother in law that has gone to be with the Lord, Mary Lake or Mama Lake as we called her!  She gave me many gifts of love over the years and one of them was the love of birds! She lived in Rockport Texas and humming birds migrated there and she would have at least a dozen feeders in her yard. She would often wake me early in the morning while the house was still quiet, with a cup of fresh coffee in her hand! We would sit on the patio looking over the bay and watch the humming birds find the bright red feeders. She taught me to sit quietly and listen in a very noise filled, and fast paced world! You could really hear their little wings fluttering around the feeders!  It has now become my morning ritual to sit outside and enjoy the birds and nature, say my morning prayers, and remember the love and great times she shared with me and my family! Always remember to make time for silence, clear your head and count your blessings!
This card was colored with copic markers.  I free hand cut the bird and flowers out and glued them on my card.  I used a border punch on the edge of the designer paper on the inside of the card. (hard to see) I glued a small strip of paper that was left from my punch, cause I just could not throw it away! Your challenge today if you should take it is to make a card based on a happy memory! Send me a picture!

Card Making Therapy

This card lets the die cuts do the work! The first layer is flat and the next one is on dimensionals.  I love the elegant style and this two...
