Spring Cleaning!

Hello my stamping friends! Its time to clean out for Spring! I am cleaning out my store room of 5 years! And it has been very emotional for me, I have realized that I saved these things for the memories more than the items themselves! I found BIG DADDYS golf bag and had to touch it and try to feel his tender loving spirit and support of our family! HE MADE US ALL FEEL SAFE AND STONG LIKE HIM!  Then a box that had spilled out left black and pink wire hair rollers, that I used to fix my Mothers all white hair. It was a once a week for church thing and it was a time to visit and catch up! We often came to my house to to fix her hair and have meal and so it turned into a good long visit and fun time together! Kyle & Rusty reminisced over golf stuff and helped me to load my clothes racks so I can redo my closet! I had to go get in the truck to hide my tears, and as I tell you this again today I still have had some tears to run down my cheeks! But I am realizing the blessings that we had with all of our family members that are now with Jesus! This die cut card is very beautiful in person! Debbie cut the shapes out for Lorna and I and brought us this wonderful design. The windows show the solid pink on the inside, the little bling dots added a perfect touch to the outside. The flowers card was colored with colored pencils and splash of washi tape runs across the bottom of the card. The design is piped up on top of the card base and allows the cores to show on the to and bottom of the card.

Hello butterfly card is a pre cut card that came in an older
stampin up kit. I stamped and colored the butterfly, added the bling and it maDE A VERY PRETTY CARD!  The new stampin up catty will be out soon and there is a large retirement list. Please let me know what you want to order before they are all gone! debsegler@gmail.com

Rainy Day Therapy!

Have you ever had so many blessings in one week that you  are just giddy! Well that happens to me often and this week was no exception! First we traveled to Portals New Mexico to see our oldest son Tres Segler become the new head Coach of Eastern New Mexico University! Please go to you tube and see his press conference.  We are so proud and excited to have been a part of this wonderful new journey in their lives! He was the former assistant at Mid Western University, and they are leaving some wonderful friends behind! I know that they will form a new extended family and many will be blessed by this move! Next I got to keep Kyle and Ashley's sweet little Landry that is four months! She is just the easy going laid back little love of our lives! She is smiling and talking all of the time and I can not help being so amazed as I watch Poppie who is smitten by her!
My cards today are to get you some free inspiration and rainy day therapy! Lots of rain here in Little Elm on the pond. Water is overflowing the banks and running up the street!  This first card has been cut with a stampin up edge die and I love the look of the two colors and shadow effect! The white background has been dry embossed and edge cut as well. The flowers and have been stamped and punched then colored with sponge to paper. The edge of the card is covered with pink satin ribbon. I will be happy to order these supplies for you debsegler@gmail.com.

The layered card is one of my favorite designs ever! Love the look of the images matching up and it brings back my days of sewing were we worked so  hard to match the stripes and designs. The design is stamped all on one piece of white and then cut apart so that you can match the design on each layer with the next one. You do not have to match in a straight line mix it up and down matching for a great new look!

This little fairy card was designed by my friend Betty and it was very fun to make while we enjoyed our stamp friends company! The base was die cut then we used a stencil to add color with a sponge. The fairy was a rented image we fussy cut and added on the top. We then used wink of stella and liquid bling!
The cute little bird was a stampin up die cut and we double cut his head and added it on top to give the bird dimension. The brick is a stampin up embossing folder that has been iced with white ink on brown card stock. We colored the flowers with colored pencils, and cut the branch and leaves with a die cut! Thanks for the great comments on my projects and I am wishing you some fun therapy!

Sunday Blessings!

Hello sweet art friends! I am rejoicing today and counting my many blessings and have been singing hymns that remind me of my mother and father.  I miss them but often remember the best gift they gave me was my FAITH! I have made so many wonderful friends through my art of stamping, and I spent the day with two of them yesterday! Lorna and Betty keep me laughing and creating! We mades several very different and awesome cards. I will post them later. These cards are to get you inspired today to not just make some cards but to send them out!  It feels so good to get something in the mail that is not bill and not a email! So be inspired to make some cards this week, count your blessings, and remember a friend by sending cards!  The card with the chick and balloons was made using the new balloon punch from stampin up. It is so quick and easy and looks different with each designer paper you try! The right side has been die cut and placed over solid paper so that it shows through and adds another color on you card. The chicken was colored with ink and sponges, to give it a bright Easter accent. Do you remember seeing little chicks
that had been dyed colors for Easter? I think that dates me?
The little girl is putting on her bonnet and going to hunt eggs with her little farm friends. The corner decoration has a punched background with lace and flowers glued on top. This is your assignment for the week. Design a corner decoration using a punch and your ribbons, lace and bling, buttons, the sky is the limit. Send me a picture to win some free card goodies I will mail to you! debsegler@gmail.com or 979-255-0377 via text.  I want to see what you create!
This stamp set has become one of my favorites and the die cuts are just so very fun to use and can do so many different things.  Botanical Blooms has a great bundle special stamp set, dies, and coordination paper! Let me order it for you!

Heartfelt dies and glitter: This was a card made in a class that Lorna and I took together. This glitter is lovely and you better like it cause you will wear it for a week after! HA! This die cut was cut in half and placed under the label, The paper ribbon was colored and placed over the top. Then the little flowers were die cut and molded with a tooling a matt after spritzing with water.  I will be looking forward to seeing your corner punch design! Happy Stamping! Hugs!

CUT TO ThE CRDS!!!

Have been traveling again and keeping my grand girls! I am posting several cards for you since, I will leave again soon. I hope to see some of your samples ! This card is so beautiful that the picture does not give it justice!  The background is a sparkle paper that is dark purple, the die cuts are in cream and turquoise and they give it such a pop of color! The edge die sis the new stampin up die from the wildflower set. It is very different and versatile in use. Had a great time making these with my stamp friends Debbie and Lorna!

I just love this look so thankful that my stamp friend Betty reminded us of it!  This project is on a purple verigated shimmer sheet. It has a texture of  plastic mixed with metal and hold she very well when put into embossing folder.  The folder gives it the look of being hand carved. After embossing I sanded the raised portion to remove the color and that really makes the design more vivid and totally changes the look. It is backed on lighter purse and placed on a darker rule card base. The Happy Spring sentiment is framed with the same colors. Once you try this out you will not be able to stop! I had difficulty finding the shimmer sheet in the local stores so I googled for them.

This is a Heartfelt die cut and one of my faves! Lorna and I attend a class and are so excited that Scrapin Good Time In Corsicana is going to host a class July 14th! Check out her website as I am teaching there too!

Corner fold gives such a boost to a card shape! This card is cut from a full piece of card stock.  It is the standard card base size extended the length of the card stock, then cut a point on the end and score so that you can turn the point back. The fold then becomes the focal point on the front of your card! I covered the card with matching designer papers, and added the bird house with little bird and the large pearl, and the stampin up die cut butterfly! Email me with your questions and stamp order debsegler@gmail.com ! ENJOY!

Card Making Therapy

This card lets the die cuts do the work! The first layer is flat and the next one is on dimensionals.  I love the elegant style and this two...
